The Work Stuff:

What's your role at fu3e and what do you actually do?

I’m a QA Engineer, which basically means I try to break things before our users do. But it’s more than that - I make sure what we build actually makes sense, works smoothly and feels right to use.

When did you join team fuser?

I actually joined fu3e twice, first as a contractor in March 2021 and then I came back in March 2025 as a permanent member. Coming back and seeing how everything has grown has been really exciting.

What were you up to before fu3e?

I worked on a platform connecting individuals with financial advisers, focusing on user journeys and real-world interactions. Before that, I built my foundation testing property and co-living platforms, where I learned how to handle complex systems and edge cases. Those experiences really shaped how I approach QA today - always thinking from the user’s perspective.

What's the coolest thing you've built/solved/shipped at fu3e so far?

Working on Object Queries and joins has been one of the most interesting challenges - especially testing how data connects across different parts of the system, almost like building SQL logic inside the product. I also really enjoyed being involved in the User Permissions upgrade. It was a complex piece of work with a lot of edge cases, and making sure everything behaved correctly across users, roles and access levels was both challenging and really rewarding.

What gets you fired up about working here?

That QA isn’t just about testing at the end - it’s about understanding the system deeply and being involved early. The earlier you ask the right questions, the fewer problems you create later.

If you could work on any dream project or feature right now, what would it be?

Right now I’m excited to be part of the improvements to the Report Builder. It’s a complex area where data, performance, and user experience all come together, and I really enjoy testing features that help turn complex information into something users can easily understand and act on.

The Fun Stuff:

What do you geek out about outside of work?

At the moment I’m learning to play the guitar (slowly but surely). I also enjoy cycling instead of using public transport, going to electronic music festivals and occasionally taking dance classes.

What's your setup like?

Simple but efficient - laptop, external monitor and way too many tabs open at once. A couple of cat-shaped stress balls on the desk help when things get… interesting.

And coffee… always coffee.

Hot take time – what's your most controversial tech opinion?

QA is not a phase at the end of development - it’s a mindset that should exist from the very beginning.

Two truths and one lie:

  • I have a snail
  • I love to cook
  • I have a dog

What's on your current playlist/podcast rotation?

It really depends on the mood - usually focus music during the day and trance or melodic techno when I need energy. I also mix in some 90s classics and a bit of easy classical.

If you weren't in tech, what would you be doing?

Something focused on helping people with their needs - closer to charity or support work. I think I’d enjoy doing something meaningful where I can make a real difference in people’s lives.

Rapid Fire Round:

Favourite tool in the product stack: Monday board.

Go-to caffeine delivery system: Flat white or Cortado.

Night owl or early bird: Early bird with coffee.

Best product you've seen recently: Figma - great for collaboration.

Superpower you wish you had: QA-related - seeing bugs before they happen (would save a lot of time) Outside of work - the ability to stop war conflicts.
